Personalised arrow stickers
July 5th, 2009
Archers participating in open competitions need to have individually identifiable arrows. Most people, including myself, use permanent markers to write their initials and the arrow number on the shaft. This is pretty fiddly though and rubs off over time.
I found an ebay seller who produces customised stickers for this purpose, so I invested in a set – click the picture for a larger view. I’ve applied a layer of clear nail varnish over the top to try and reduce the chances of the edges lifting, although they did stick on well in the first place.
I think they’re a nice solution to a common problem for archers who shoot competitively. If the seller in question currently has them listed, they’ll appear here.

That’s a really good idea. My boyfriend does archery. Might get him some.
does it not make them unevenly weighted?
The combined weight of the sticker and the nail varnish is pretty small in comparison to the rest of the arrow so it shouldn’t affect the flight. I’ve read that the raised area isn’t really an aerodynamic problem either – at least, my poor fletching skills will probably have a greater effect on the flight than the stickers
Hi Ian, nice of you to mention my stickers.
I myself have shot at the top end of the Bowman classification – I even had ideas of attempting Master Bowman, but could not afford any more time to practice.
In my experience the few extra grains of weight will only have any affect on your groups if you were at least MB.
Any less than that status and you can be sure that something you are doing is affecting the arrow a lot more than a simple sticker.
Some of the people that trialed them for me nearly two years ago were MB or very near that status so if they are happy then so am I.
I also make name tags for local GirlGuides that need to mark their belongings when they go to camp – my daughter being one of them.
Her KFS and dishes with these stickers on has done several rounds with the DISHWASHER, so adhesion shouldn’t be an issue either.
It’s nice to see a neat product on what is an expensive arrow instead of the old 50p decals
regards and good shooting
Paul
Hi Paul
I’m currently shooting at about 1st class level, so I certainly agree that I have a lot to work on before worrying about arrow stickers
Thanks again,
Ian
